Don't get so worried about stuff

Judy Lynch Allison, '61...and I just kind of grew up a little bit

Judy Lynch Allison, '61 tells interviewer Jenn Bokoch Gillett, "I was very nervous....Sister Theophane was the principal at the time. Apparently a teacher had kind of reported that I was having a little trouble. And so it got back to the principal, and she talked to me, and she was very kind. And then another person who pulled me aside, she says, 'Lynch, get over here.' [It was] Lenore Shaw, the phys ed teacher at the time. And she just laid it out. She said, 'What the heck's going on here? You're doing fine.' Don't get so worried about stuff, you know. And she just kind of knocked it out of me. And just those two little events that happened. Then I realized, I'm doing fine. I was good student. ... I realized that I was doing well and just kind of grew up a little bit and started to fit in ... So that was what turned me around. A couple people pulling me aside saying, 'You're doing fine. Don't be so worried. Everything's good.' And so there I was."
