Mary Hoffman '70 tells interviewer Jenn Bokoch Gillett, "I was going to go to St. Ben's come hell or high water because my mom went there, my sister went there, and I couldn't be happier that I went there. It was pretty cool. ...if St. Ben's did anything, they gave me the confidence to take on something I was unfamiliar with. I went on a journey [into special education] that I had no idea what I was getting into, and I was open to it, you know? And so, maybe that would be the underlying credit that I could give the sisters.... I don't go out and march on the streets, but I stand up for all people. And yes, it was the Benedictines who gave me that framework. It was the way it was, and you just absorbed it. You know, it was beautiful.
