Ann Michalski, '81, was one of the voices heard in the live reading of Where Hope Is: Stories of Benedictine Influence on June 30, 2024. Sadly, Ann succumbed to cancer on January 31, 2024, between the time she was interviewed and the performance. In her interview with Jenn Bokoch Gillett, Ann shared, "I think the time at SBA allowed me to think bigger. When I was at SBA, I hated being in an all girls school. I thought it was the worst thing in the world. Retrospectively, it was the best thing in the world....I think [the sisters] live by two tenets, and I don't want to be speaking for them, but if I could describe them, I would say they live by judge, and you shall be judged. Judge not and you shall not be judged. And then love one another as I have loved you, whether you're the poorest person in the world or the richest person. And so I try. I walked away from St. Ben's with that..."
